It was, perhaps, fortuitous, that the company’s founder Dan Higgins was born in Ireland and he chose green, the colour of his ancestral homeland, to identify the plant and vehicles operated by Higgins. Green has not only gone on to become our livery colour, it clearly represents what Higgins stands for.

From the early days, The Green Team phrase was coined as an expression of the close-knit teamwork, family-based values and pride that has bonded Higgins people together, in work and in play. Being a member of The Green Team is something special. We look out for each other, show our colleagues proper respect, pass on what we’ve learned to others so that they can improve and if things get tough we stick together and support each other. We take pride in doing a good job and we’ll move Heaven and Earth to achieve it.

And we were green long before the word became fashionably linked with the environment – taking care to treat the places where we work with care and respect.
