NZDF Ohakea Airforce - Project Takitini

This project follows on from Stage 1 which included new roading infrastructure (30,000m2) and underground services (20,000m) for the new 3 Squadron Helicopters.  Higgins onsite track record, along with the companies understanding of the job and ability to deliver to the client what they want, shows the measure of the excellent work Higgins Contractors and subcontractors have delivered on the project to date.

The new contract is a heavy duty pavement which links to the existing taxiways for the 3 Squadron helicopter hanger.  The 27,000m2 pavement has extensive Asphaltic concrete with heavy duty hardstands and associated airfield drainage and lighting.   Sean Dowling (Higgins Projects) is managing the construction with Higgins Contractors Palmerston North building the granular pavement.  Ebert Construction are building the hardstands and are currently building the new helicopter hanger.  Higgins Palmerston North are contracted to them for the civil works for this building.
