Temporary but effective traffic management is essential during any road maintenance and on construction sites. This activity requires careful planning and strict compliance with traffic management standards. Being able to direct the traveling public through sites with minimum delay, and in absolute safety, is paramount.

Higgins prides itself in being a leader in temporary traffic management. Experience ranges from complex motorway construction projects in Auckland and Wellington (that demand high levels of planning, onsite management and equipment), to rural sites that are less complex yet still require strong attention to planning and delivery to ensure traffic management is executed smoothly for the travelling public .

All staff are trained to the NZTA standards of compliance and each Higgins branch has traffic management capability to meet the needs in their specific area – ranging from STMS (Site Traffic Management Supervisor) Level 1 to Level 3.
