CCNZ Training Award – Jake Alderson
Jake Alderson was awarded the Z Energy People Award in the category ‘Training Development’
Congratulations to Jake Alderson who was awarded at the National Civil Contractors New Zealand Conference on the 3 August 2018 in Auckland, Judge Brian Warren said "Jake Alderson is a fantastic example of someone who has wholeheartedly grasped what a career in civil construction can offer. He's reached a fantastic achievement for someone of his years.
Jake started with Higgins in 2011 as a labourer at the age of 16, seven years on he works as a Foreman managing several delivery teams. "Higgins confidence in me saw my appointment to run the on-site operations for Auckland’s Southern Corridor Improvements project. Working for a company that mentors, trains and trusts its people to self-manage major projects reflects how a company can take people like me from good to great."
"With Higgins’ support, I completed the Young Fellas Camp, the ‘Step Up’ leadership programme, obtained my operator licences and two New Zealand Certificates through Connexis, in Infrastructure Works level 2 and in Plant and Equipment level 3."
This award comes after recently winning the Stellar People Awards - Young Contractor of the Year recently at the Auckland Civil Contractors New Zealand conference.
