Higgins was founded by Irish immigrant Dan Higgins in Manawatu in 1958 and has grown to a dynamic company involved in civil construction and the manufacture of bitumen products. In 2016, Higgins was purchased by Fletcher Building and is now part of the Fletcher Construction family of brands.
We have specialist expertise in a wide range of areas:
Importing and supplying bulk bitumen as well as manufacturing asphalt and specialist bitumen products
Building bitumen tankers and sprayers for customers throughout New Zealand
Looking after high-quality infrastructure projects from design through to delivery
Testing materials to ensure they meet precise performance specifications, as well as supporting product development
Managing central and local government maintenance contracts for state highways, urban and rural roads
Providing a comprehensive range of surface marking options for all road marking requirements
Manufacturing a complete range of road signage and supplying a wide range of traffic safety products
Delivering optimal surfacing solutions with customers' specific needs in mind
Delivering effective temporary traffic management through careful planning and strict compliance with traffic management standards
